The MSAD 4 School Board, serving Guilford and five surrounding towns, recently saw its school budget be approved at the district budget meeting, which is no small feat when costs are rising but revenues are not given the downsizing of the textile mills in the area, according to board member, Thelma Regan. That downsizing is reflected not only in class sizes but their sports teams, where students from the districts of Greenville and MSAD 4 combine to play on some of their teams. The district also is celebrating Piscataquis Community Elementary School Principal Anita Wright who has been named Maine’s National Distinguished Principal for 2023-2024.
