Robbie Feinberg

Maine Public Radio host/education reporter Robert Feinberg has been named Director of Communications and Government Relations of the Maine School Management Association. Robbie is deeply passionate about public education, and he is thrilled to use his knowledge to advocate on behalf of superintendents and school board members at the legislative level. Feinberg will move into his new position on August 19, 2024.

Robbie has spent much of the past eight years as a host and education reporter for Maine Public Radio. Many of you have likely spoken with Robbie before - for several years, he helped to lead the “Maine Education Project,” where he talked with hundreds of school leaders, educators and students to document the challenges facing Maine’s schools, as well as promising solutions. In recent years, he has produced research and reports diving into issues from school budgets to student homelessness, with some of that work helping lead to changes in state policy.

“We are so excited to begin working with Robbie,” said MSMA Executive Director Steve Bailey. “With his experiences interviewing educators from across the state and the country he comes to this position with a vast background that will help with all his interactions with our association members and his work with legislators. His writing and reporting experience definitely will be invaluable assets in his work at MSMA.”

Robbie is particularly excited to use his skills to help grow MSMA’s visibility and find new ways to share the important perspectives and stories of Maine’s school leaders. He and his family currently live in Vassalboro.

Feinberg holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
